Tennis team finishes fourth at NCC Tourney

The Clear Lake girls tennis team finished in fourth place as a team in the first-ever North Central Conference Tournament held Saturday, May 7.  

In singles play Clear Lake’s top two players, Aimee Groeneweg and Ashlyn Fread, each had a good day on the court.  Groeneweg went 2-2 for the day to finish in seventh place.  Fread was 3-1 and earned fifth place.

In doubles, the Lion doubles team of Emily Roberts and Haley Jackson faced Macey Brant and Lilliana Rodriguez for placing of 7th place. Roberts and Jackson won, 8-3.

Teams in the NCC included Iowa Falls, Hampton, St. Edmond, Webster City, Clear Lake. Webster City was the tournament champion.
