Weather disrupts some Earth Day activities

Spring’s late arrival is causing some changes to Earth Day activities scheduled for Saturday.  Most of the Clear Lake Earth Days events will be held as scheduled, but some changes are necessary because of the snow.

The Green Expo will be held from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the Surf.  It is free and open to the public.  The 5K/10K race will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at City Park and the Kwik Kwikkel 1 Mile Fundraiser will begin at 9:15 a.m.  The International Crane Foundation program will be held as scheduled starting at 11 a.m.

Other OutdoorFest activities will not be held because of snow accumulation. TrashBash teams are asked to reschedule their cleanup next week.  Details will be e-mailed to each team.

“Teams are thanked for their willingness to pitch in for the community!” said Committee Chair Jan Lovell.

Updates will be posted on the Clear Lake Earth Day or 5K/10K Clear Lake Earth Day Facebook pages.
