Wendall L. Hahn
Wendall Leroy Hahn, 77, of Iowa City, passed away on Monday, Aug. 8, 2016, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, Aug. 13, 2016, at the Sorden-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Inurnment was in Lone Tree Cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Iowa City Hospice, Amaranth Diabetes Foundation or the Parkinson’s Disease Clinic at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in memory of Wendall. Wendall Hahn was born on June 9, 1939, in Kensett, Iowa, the son of Harry L. and Hazel (Hill) Hahn. He graduated from Clear Lake High School and Hamilton College. On Jan. 12, 1996, Wendall was united in marriage to Margaret Kirkpatrick, in Mountain Home, Ark. He worked as an accountant and office manager for Wayne Feeds.
Wendall was a member of the Moose of Iowa City and enjoyed walking, going for short trips in the car, having breakfast at Hardees and most of all spending time with family and friends.
Wendall will be missed by his wife, Margaret, of Iowa City; two children, Jeff Bennerhahn and his wife, Deb, of Iowa City and Lisa Hahn, of Tipton, Iowa; four grandchildren, Owen and Ellen Bennerhahn, Rainie Hahn and Sonnie Lewis; two brothers, Larry Hahn and his wife, Marge, of Clear Lake and Duane Hahn of Pierre, S.D.
Wendall was preceded in death by his parents; son, Eddie Hahn in 1972; brother, Carlin Hahn in 1996, two sister-in-laws, Louis Hahn and Ethel Hahn.
Sorden-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services, Lone Tree, Iowa, was in charge of arrangements.
