Wet and Wild

(Above) The sport of snowmobiling seems to be alive and well, as evidenced by the good number of youngsters who took turns on the track for Kitty Kat races at The Jack.

Warmer than normal temperatures made the conditions a little more wet, but didn’t dampen the spirits of competitors at the 8th Annual Jack Helgren Memorial Iowa Leman Championship at Clear Lake State Park.  Race organizer Gary McVicker said entries were down slightly, but were good considering the weather this year.  Participation was up in the vintage show, with some coming from three and four hours away to participate.  McVicker said the North Iowa Snow Seekers and its many volunteers are already looking forward to next year’s event on the lake.
