William Sharp

William (Bill) Leonard Sharp, 79, of  20 N. 4th St., Clear Lake, died Friday, Oct. 16, 2015, at the Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City, Iowa.

A celebration of Bill’s life will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 13, 2015, at the Clear Lake V.F.W. with military honors provided by the Clear Lake V.F.W. at 4 p.m.  According to his wishes he was cremated.  Memorials may be given to the Clear Lake V.F.W.  Building Fund or Hospice of North Iowa.

     Bill was born May 18, 1936, in Peru, Ill., the son of Edward and Marie (Frederich) Sharp.  Following school, he enlisted in the United States Army, where he served for five and one-half years, three in Germany.  After returning,  he married Mary Bezely in 1960.  He worked at area GM dealerships, spending 15 years at Schukei Chevrolet as a mechanic.  He later worked at Metal Fabricators in Clear Lake.

     Bill loved golfing, bowling and his cars.  Friends of many, he enjoyed his life in Clear Lake.  He was a member of the Clear Lake V.F.W.  He married Nancy Schmoldt on Feb. 14, 2008.

     Bill is survived by his wife, Nancy Sharp, Clear Lake; children, Kim (Scott Pohar) Sharp, Ottawa, Ill., Kris (Dave Hoefke) Coble, LaSalle, Ill., William E. (Susan) Sharp, Des Moines, Iowa, Jerry (Marsha) Bezely, Clear Lake, Ron (Kathy) Schmoldt, St. Augusta, Minn. and Rhonda (Al) Ceresa, Fort Wayne, Ind.; grandchildren, Ryan Bezely, Chad Bezely, Allen (Biljana) Ceresa, Kayla Coble, Jesse Sharp, Jade Sharp, Abby (Cory) Storms, and Aaron Schmoldt; great grandchildren, Cloe and Cylvie Ceresa and Brianna Storms; sisters, Mickie (Butch) Croissant and Diane (Charles) Badus, brother-in-law, Bruce Selpien.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Jaci Byrd.

Ward - Van Slyke Colonial Chapels, Clear Lake, was in charge of arrangements.
