Lions are a perfect 10 in NCC action

The Clear Lake baseball team is a perfect 10.  Make that a perfect 10-0 in the North Central Conference.
    The Lions, who moved up in the ratings to the number eight position in Class 3A, improved to 17-4 overall and 10-0 in the conference during another very successful week.
  

Clear Lake wrestlers record two big NCC wins

The Clear Lake wrestling team traveled to Eagle Grove and came away with two big North Central Conference wins.  The Lions beat Eagle Grove, 66-15, and Hampton, 51-15.
    “We wrestled very well Thursday night. Once again our kids won the third period on conditioning.  Coach Lester does an awesome job getting our kids into shape and it is showing up in the win column,” stated head Coach Gary Weber.

Lions extend regular season wins to 37

Clear Lake scored on every drive in a 56-6 thrashing of Humboldt Friday night, Sept. 23, on the Wildcats’ home field.  The win moved the top rated (3A) Lions to 5-0 and extended their state leading longest regular season chain of wins to 37 games.
    The Lions jumped out to a 36-0 lead at the half.  Three of the touchdowns were provided by junior fullback Cody Maulsby, who tallied 213 yards on 24 carries.  He added a fourth TD in the third quarter, running for a 49-yard score on third down and nine.

Vikings pick up a heart-pounding 44-39 win

   Heart-pounding over the top excitement is the only way to describe Ventura’s football game Friday night against Graettinger-Terril.  A total of 11 touchdowns were scored in the game, 4 in the fourth quarter alone, a game-saving touchdown was made in the final :51 seconds of play and a key interception were all part of the adrenalin rush, as the Vikings topped the Knights
