Area church continues efforts in Haiti

For the past three years after the devastating earthquake struck Haiti in 2010, Zion Lutheran Church’s global mission teams have worked to help rebuild a church in Carrefour, an area within the country’s capital of Port-au-Prince.  The Strait Gate church was totally leveled following the earthquake, much like many of the homes and other buildings in the area.  Worship services were being held in a tent with a generator and a few lightbulbs.

Voting sites reduced for Nov. 5 Regular Election in Clear Lake

 

Voters in the City of Clear Lake will be allowed to cast their ballot in the Nov. 5 Regular City Election at one of two voting sites.

Clear Lake City Hall, 15 N. 6th St., and the Church of Christ, 2010 14th Ave. N., will be the two designated polling sites, according to City Clerk Jennifer Larsen and Commissioner of Elections Ken Kline.
