Gordon Hartley Carlson died Oct. 30, 2012 at St. John’s Mercy Hospital, St. Louis, Mo.  Internment will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis.

  Mr. Carlson was born April 15, 1924 in Chicago, Ill. He served in the Eighth Army Air Corps during World War II as a Flight Engineer on B-24 Bombers earning the Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Medals among others.

Allen Henry Koepke, 73, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed into eternal life surrounded by his family and friends singing praise hymns on Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012 at St. Luke’s Hospital. Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 29, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Faith and Life Center with the Rev. Perry Fruhling and Pastor Jim Coyle 

officiating.   Burial was at the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Glenn V. Fergason, 93, of Clear Lake, Iowa, passed away Friday, Aug. 31, 2012 at Hospice of North Iowa.  Most recently, Glenn resided at Homestead Assisted Living, Mason City, Iowa. 

A memorial service and celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012, at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 North 4th Street, Clear Lake, with Reverend Dean Hess of Zion Lutheran Church in 

Ronald Butz

Ronald Paul Butz went home to be with his Lord on July 27, 2012 at the age of 59 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minn.  He died from complications of congestive heart failure.  A funeral service was held for Ronald on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at the Clear Lake Evangelical Free Church, Clear Lake, with Pastor Dan Jordan 

officiating.  Burial was in the Clear Lake Cemetery.  Should friends desire, memorials may be left in Ronald’s name to the Clear Lake Evangelical Free Church.

    Bill B. Beard, born in Des Moines, Iowa on June 20, 1928, passed away on Saturday evening, June 23, 2012 surrounded by his loving family.
    Bill was an amazing husband, father, grandpa, and most recently great-grandpa to a family who loved him dearly and will miss him forever.    Bill’s career spanned over 27 years at Sears in Ames, Iowa.  Bill and his wife Nancy retired to Clear Lake in the fall of 1991.     Thomas E. Skellenger, 66, 212 7th Ave N., Clear Lake, died Thursday, May 3, 2012 at the Mercy Medical Center of North Iowa, Mason City, Iowa. 
    A memorial sService will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 9, at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, with the Rev. Wendy Johannesen officiating. Inurnment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City, Iowa.  Memorials may be given to the Thomas E. Skellenger Family in care of the family.

    Donna J. Walker, 75, of Clear Lake, died Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at the I.O.O.F. Home, Mason City, Iowa from complications of Alzheimer’s disease. A celebration of her life will be held 11 a.m., Monday, March 19, at First Congregational Church, 205 W. 10th Ave N., Clear Lake, with the Rev. Brad Thornton officiating. Family will greet friends one hour before the service at the church.

    Sandra L. (Morse Burke) Gjerdahl, 65, of Quartzsite, Az., and formerly Fertile, Iowa died Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012 at the Palo Verde Hospital, Blythe, Calif.
    Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 8, at the Church of Christ, Fertile, with Pastor Rob Perry and Pastor Dennis Ganz officiating.  Interment will be in Ventura Cemetery, Ventura, Iowa. Family suggests memorials to Sandra L. Gjerdahl Memorial Fund.
