Warren (Rancher) Sears

 Rancher Warren Sears, 93, of Clear Lake, Iowa died Monday, July 28, 2014 at his home. Memorial services were held on Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2014, at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, with Rev. Dennis Ganz officiating. Military honors were provided by the Clear Lake V.F.W. The family suggests memorials to Rancher Sears Memorial Fund in lieu of flowers.

Rena Lady

 Rena Arlene Lady, 89, of Clear Lake, died Thursday, July 3, 2014 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.
 Left to cherish her memory are her children, Virginia “Ginny” (Rory) Willett, of Waterloo, Iowa, and Mark (Paula) Lady, of Loveland, Colo.; and three grandchildren, 

Lawrence Crail

 Lawrence Neal “Larry” Crail, 82, of Clear Lake, died Saturday, June 7, 2014 at the Oakwood Care Center, Clear Lake. Time of celebrating his life and sharing memories and a Masonic Service by the Harding Masonic Lodge was held on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at the Clear Lake United Methodist Church. Interment with military honors will be provided at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines at a later date. Family suggests memorials to Hospice of North Iowa or a charity of your choice.

Keith Markwardt

Keith Markwardt, 75, of Mason City, died Monday, May 19, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center North Iowa, Mason City.  

Services are pending at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. 4th St., Clear Lake. 

Pastor Murley Severtson

Pastor Murley A. Severtson, 94, Clear Lake, died Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at the Oakwood Care Center, Clear Lake.

Michael S. Wyborny

Michael “Mick” Shane Wyborny, 65, of Mason City, died Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at his home.

Per Mick’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and a Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 24, 2014 at the Rolling Acres Christian Reformed Church, 340 20th St. S.W., Mason City, with Pastor Nate DeVries officiating.  The family requests casual attire be worn for the service.  The family will greet friends one hour prior to the memorial service at the church on Monday.

Sena Christensen

Sena Margereta Christensen, 97, of Boone, Iowa, formerly of Clear Lake, passed away Feb. 11, 2014, at the Westhaven Community, Boone.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014 at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, with Rev. Carl Hedberg of St. John Lutheran Church, rural Garner, Iowa officiating.  Burial was in St. John Cemetery, rural Garner.

Memorials can be made to St. John Lutheran Church or to the donor’s choice.

Audrey M. Spilman

Audrey M. Spilman, 95, of Clear Lake, died Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014 at the Oakwood Care Center, Clear Lake.

According to her wishes, her body has been donated to the University of Iowa.

Marion Roth

Marion Roth, age 97, of Menno, S.D., passed away early Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013 at the Menno-Olivet Care Center, Menno, surrounded by her family.  Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013 at the Grace Lutheran Church, Menno, with Rev. Theresa Jacobson officiating.  Burial was in the Unity Lutheran Cemetery, rural Clayton, S.D.  

Pallbearers were her great-grandsons, Trent Chance, Cameron VanBeek, and Jaron VanBeek; her grandsons-in-law, Kevin VanBeek, Brian Mckinney; and nephew, Warren Mitchell.

Elmer P. Reicherts

Elmer P. Reicherts, 78, of Swaledale, Iowa, died Friday, Nov.1, 2013 at the Rockwell Community Nursing Home in Rockwell, Iowa.

Per Elmer’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and a memorial service will be held at

 11 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013 at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. 4th St, Clear Lake, with the Rev. Kenneth B. Gehling officiating.  

Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the Elmer P. Reicherts Memorial Fund in care of his family.
