 Patricia S. Lomen, 87, of Clear Lake, died June 17, 2014 at the Oakwood Care Center, Clear Lake. A Celebration of Life service was held on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, with Rev. Tom Dettmer, of Trinity Lutheran Church, Mason City, officiating. Inurnment will be at a later time in the Clear Lake Cemetery. Family suggests memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church Music Program. Lions move up to #2 in the Class 3A rankings

The Clear Lake Lions moved up to number two in the Class 3A rankings last week. The Lions, now 16-2, have the best fielding percentage and second best team ERA of all the teams in Class 3A.

Young softball team is working hard to correct fielding errors

The Clear Lake girls fell to 1-16 overall and 1-9 in the conference last week. Coach Megan Young said the young team is working hard to correct fielding errors which are giving their opponents too many opportunities.

Cardinals end week on an upswing; pick up two wins

The week may have started off a little shaky for the Garner-Hayfield/Ventura baseball team, but it ended on an upswing, as the Cardinals collected two wins and moved their record to 4-13.
