Municipal Band, 1997 - The Clear Lake Municipal Band, under the direction of Lud Wangberg, opened its season in 1997 on Saturday, June 21.  Band concerts were held at 7:30 p.m. on Saturdays and 3 p.m.

Two teams top Clear Lake in softball action

by Marianne GasawayNorth Central Conference rivals Webster City and Humboldt kept the Lions winless last week.  Both opponents maintained their perfect records in the NCC with victories.The Lions will have plenty of opportunities to break into the win column this week, if the weather cooperates.  They are slated to be at Garner-Hayfield-Ventura Thursday, June 9, before hosting Iowa Falls-Alden on Friday.  Monday they are at Algona and Tuesday, June 14, Maso

CL students compete in Special Olympics

The Clear Lake Lions Special Olympics Team competed at the State Summer Games on the Iowa State University campus, in Ames, on Friday, May 20.Following are the results for Clear Lake athletes that competed:•Urijah Maulsby placed 1st, receiving the Gold Medal in the Softball Throw.  •Tyler Bailey placed 2nd in the 100 meter dash and also 2nd in the 50 meter dash.  •Zoey Campbell placed 2nd in the 100 meter dash and 4th in the 50 meter dash.
