Council accepts Main Avenue reconstruction

The City Council has accepted the work and special assessment notices will soon be on their way to property owners located along the 2020 East Main Avenue Street Improvement Project which extended from 20th to 13th and 14th Streets.

The Council met Tuesday, July 6, and unanimously approved the final pay estimate for the reconstruction of the eastern portion of Main Avenue.

Alan L. Fischer, 57, of Appleton, Wis., passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 27, 2021, surround in love by his family after a short fight with cancer.

Funeral services were held on Friday, July 2, at the Wichmann Funeral Home, Appleton.

Alan was born on March 31, 1964, in Clear Lake, the son of Robert Fischer and the late Delores (Taft) Fischer.  He was united in marriage to Dawn Krogfoss on April 22, 2011.

Memorial may be made to the family of Alan Fischer.

Alan L. Fischer, 57, of Appleton, Wis., passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 27, 2021, surround in love by his family after a short fight with cancer.

Funeral services were held on Friday, July 2, at the Wichmann Funeral Home, Appleton.

Alan was born on March 31, 1964, in Clear Lake, the son of Robert Fischer and the late Delores (Taft) Fischer.  He was united in marriage to Dawn Krogfoss on April 22, 2011.

Memorial may be made to the family of Alan Fischer.

Geraldine “Geri” Hess, 92, of Peoria, Az., formerly of Clear Lake and Mason City, died peacefully on Wednesday, March 24, 2021, at her home in Arizona.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 17, at St Patrick’s Catholic Church, 1001 9th Ave. S., Clear Lake, with the Rev. Josh Link officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, in Mason City.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, July 16, at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 310 1st Ave. N., Clear Lake.

Braden LeRoy Richardson, age 90, passed away peacefully at his home in Rio Hondo, Texas, on Nov. 10, 2020, with family by his side.

A Celebration of Life will be held on July 24, 2021, at 10 a.m., at the Clear Lake VFW.  Following services and a final military salute, family will board the Lady of the Lake to celebrate his memory by boating around Clear Lake.

Memorials may be made in his honor to the Clear Lake VFW for his military service to the United States of America.

Braden L. Richardson
