Demolition makes way for $537,000 building at Lions Field

 Buildings have begun coming down at Lions Field in preparation for new team rooms, restrooms and concession stand.

The Clear Lake School Board approved a $24,865 contract with Navratil 

Excavating, of Mason City, to remove the old buildings on Tuesday, May 27. Less than one week later, the structures were down.
 The Board is seeking bids for a new building, with costs estimated at $537,000. The project will be paid for with proceeds from the local option sales tax.
The building is expected to be completed by the start of the football season.
At its meeting the board also approved seeking bids for a roof replacement at Clear Creek Elementary and for a district-wide campus security system. The security system would be financed with funds from the district’s physical plant and equipment levy.  Bids will be opened at 5:15 p.m. Monday, July 1.
Contract change
In other business, the Board approved a contract with North Central Mechanical Services to provide preventative maintenance service to Clear Lake school buildings heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment.
