School Board will accept nominations until Aug. 5 to fill vacancy

 All persons interested in filling a one-year vacancy on the Clear Lake School Board are asked to submit a cover letter and resume by Aug. 5. Interviews will be conducted Aug. 11.

 School Board members reluctantly accepted the resignation of Deb Betz Monday night and invited district residents to consider service on the School Board. The person chosen to fill Betz’s post would hopefully run for election after the one-year vacancy is fulfilled.
 Betz announced last week she would be stepping down from the Board. She and her family are moving to Florida, where her husband has accepted a new job.
 Board policy states the Board has 30 days to fill the vacated position. That person will serve until the next Regular School Board election in September 2015.
Those interested in being considered for the Board vacancy should submit a cover letter and resume to Superintendent Anita Micich by Aug. 5. The materials may be dropped off or mailed to the District Office at 1529 3rd Ave. N., or submitted on-line to [email protected].
