Mathews paces Cards
With the conference meet and districts just around the corner, the Garner-Hayfield/Ventura girls track team had some things to work out at a home meet held on Monday, May 5.
“We are figuring out where we can score points and what has a possibility at districts,” said Coach Dyan Childress. “It is the most exciting time of the season. The girls are stepping up and competing hard to do their best. Every meet we have many personal records broken. They are hungry for success.”
Success is just what they got, as they placed second in the eight-team field with 114 points. Osage won the meet with 148 points. Forest City was third with 76 points.
