945 were listed in the school census.  This is a drop of 16 since the census of 1938.

Vanquished France officially layed down her shattered arms Tuesday, a victim of the mighty might of Germany.  All flags were draped and all business houses were closed.  Millions are homeless.

The milking contest held Saturday night in the park was arranged by John Perkins in observance of National Dairy Month.  Archie Peterson won first place; Jess Buttleman was second and Tim Phalen took third.

Larry Heeb, waterfront director and life guard, reports 67 have registered for swimming lessons at Municipal Beach.
