100 Years Ago June 1915
A severe storm passed through Clear Lake and its vicinity. A black cloud gathered and rapidly deposited a downpour of rain and considerable hail. The wind also did damage. Jake Sawyer lost three head of cattle that were in a pasture and were struck by lightening.
Matt Olson and Co., is full of bargains. Vienna Style sausage, 10¢ a can; corned beef, 15¢; deviled ham, 12.5¢; potted meats and veal loaf, 10¢; boneless chicken, 45¢; oil sardines, 5¢; and fresh mackerel, 20¢.
Nice, cool buttermilk is not half appreciated as it should be. A diet of buttermilk has saved many persons from dyspepsia and kindred ills. Drink up.
The men who were in town last week were here on business seining carp.
