CLHS Dance team earns high ratings at MA Dance Camp

The Clear Lake High School Dance Team attended MA Dance Camp in Des Moines July 16-18.

  They performed twice during the camp for evaluation.  Their ‘Superhero’ themed home routine earned them the highest rating of superior. They also learned a pom routine Thursday and performed it Saturday and earned the highest rating of Grand Champion.

  Team members were also recognized during the four dance session and the technique class they attended. Members receiving awards included:

•‘Rising Star’ Award: Lily Deets, Jaedyn Copney, Kourtney Mundt, Grace Hartnett, Hannah Rieck, Kate Franke, Madison Finstad and Ellie Schulze.

• ‘All American’ Awards and qualifying to participate in performances at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and the Citrus Bowl: Marissa Olk, Ellie Tindall, Sophia Schultz, Ali Witt, Sophia Willis, Lexie Holtz and Kate Franke.

•Honor Roll Team Members were: Marissa Olk, Ellie Tindall and Sophia Schultz.

  Director Liz LeFevre also completed the Camp’s Director’s workshops, which included classes and choreography, technique and building team leaders.
