CL players named to IHSBCA All-State teams
The Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association has included three Clear Lake players on its All-State teams.
Senior Brock Adams was named to the 2015 All-State “Super Team” as a utility player. Adams allowed just four earned runs this season and finished with an 8-1 record on the mound. He finished with a 0.44 ERA and won five postseason games. He tossed a two-hitter in the state championship game against Waterloo Columbus. At the plate, Adams hit .417 and drove in 36 runs. He also scored a team-best 46 runs and tied for the team lead with 48 hits. Adams helped the Lions to two state championships in his career. As a sophomore, Adams started on a team that won the Class 3A state championship.
Senior Mitch Keeran was honored as an outfielder the Class 2A First Team. Keeran, who played outfield for the State Champion Lions, batted .387 and had a slugging percentage of .605. He was the team leader in RBIs with 55.
Senior Jacob Hogan was a Second Team Class 2A choice. The senior batted .359 with a slugging percentage of .641. Hogan’s five home runs during the season included walk-off grand slams in the 2015 District Final and Sub-State games which sent the Lions to State. He recorded 28 RBIs.
