Sandra DeWilde

Sandra “Sandy” DeWilde, 72, of Clear Lake, died Thursday, Sept. 3, 2015 at her home.

Memorial services were held on Tuesday Sept. 8, 2015, at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. 4th St., Clear Lake, with Rev. Dennis Ganz officiating.  Family suggests memorials to the Preservation of Clear Lake.

Sandra was born March 3, 1943 in Marshalltown, Iowa, the daughter of Frank W. and Wilma Lee (Koteck) Allen.  She graduated from Mason City High School 1960.

Sandra married Tom DeWilde on Jan. 3, 1963.  She enjoyed spending time with friends, boating on the lake and their winters in Florida. She was an avid walker averaging five miles a day and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren playing cards and other games.

She was a member of the Clear Lake Yacht Club.

Sandra is survived by her two children, Tamara (Daniel) Kroc, Libertyville, Ill. and Jason DeWilde, Ankeny, Iowa; grandchildren, Ashley and Kelly Kroc and Ellen, Tommy and Andy DeWilde; father, Frank Allen, Charles City, Iowa; brother, Scott (Kathy) Allen, Des Moines, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Wilma Allen; and husband, Tom DeWilde.

Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, was in charge of arrangements.
