CL girls fall at Crestwood

The Clear Lake volleyball team was on the road for a non-conference match last week, then competed in the Forest City Tournament Saturday.  In both outings the young Lions were competitive.

On Thursday, Sept. 17, the team battled Crestwood.  Games scores were close, but the home team swept the match 3-0.

Crestwood was the eventual winner of the first game, 27-25.  It was more of the same in game two, 25-23, and they sealed the deal with a 25-18 win in the third.

“It was a very competitive game from the start,” said Coach Keith Sears.  “The girls battled and never gave up throughout the night.  Mental mistakes ultimately came back to bite us in the end.”

The Lions had steady play at the service line, with Chloe Mueller going 10/10 with two aces.  Mueller also recorded a team-high 11 digs in the match.

Kiersten Baalson was credited with seven assists and Emily Snelling had six kills for the team.

Forest City Tournament

“It was a challenging day from start to finish,” said Coach
