Board begins interviews with superintendent search firms tonight
The Clear Lake School Board is slated to interview three firms tonight (Wednesday, Jan. 6) interested in helping the district search for a new superintendent for the 2016-2017 school year.
At 5 p.m. the Board will listen to a presentation from McPherson & Jacobson LLC, of Omaha, Neb. Former Clear Lake Schools Superintendent Dr. Michael Teigland is a consultant with the national search firm. McPherson & Jacobson, L.L.C. has been conducting national searches for boards of education since 1991 and has placed over 500 superintendents and other officials in public and non-profit organizations across the United States.
At 6 p.m. Ray and Associates, from Cedar Rapids, Iowa will make a presentation. Ray and Associates, Inc. has been in the school executive search business since 1975. The firm has been recognized by “The School Administrator” journal as one of the top search firms in the country.
The final presentation will take place at 7 p.m. by Trent Grundmeyer, former Hampton-Dumont School District superintendent, now residing in Des Moines and operating Grundmeyer Leadership Firm. Since June 2013 he has served as assistant professor of educational leadership at Drake University.
The Board will receive 30-minute presentations from each search firm. The presentations will be followed by 15-minutes for questions from the Board of Education.
