Offense was much harder to come by Thursday when the Lions hosted county rival Mason City.  The Mohawks took home a 14-2 victory in six innings.

The game was much closer than the score indicates through five innings.  Mason City held a 4-0 lead through the top of the fifth, but the Lions scored two in the bottom of the inning to pull within two, 4-2.

The flood gates opened in the sixth when the Mohawks plated six runs, helped by Lion errors.  On the night, Clear Lake committed six errors.

Sara Faber smacked a two run double in the fifth to score Clear Lake’s only runs.

Kiersten Baalson was the losing pitcher.  She struck out four and walked two.  The Mohawks picked up 16 hits against the Lion hurler.
