Daniel R. Starr, 89, Clear Lake, died Wednesday, June 15, 2016, at the Good Shepherd Health Center, Mason City, Iowa.  According to his wishes, his body has been cremated.  Inurnment will be at a later date, in Sunnyvale, Calif. with his parents.

Dan was born April 12, 1927 in Atlantic, Iowa, the son of Russell and Delphine (Barber) Starr.  He graduated from Waterloo East High School.  Dan joined the Navy and served during WWII in the Pacific Tour. Following an Honorable Discharge he worked for Schoitz Engineering.

Dan is survived by three daughters, Danette (Denny) Schutjer, Danene  Starr, and Alisa (Les) Kinseth, all of Clear Lake; and five grandchildren, Matt (Jody) Clemons, Nathan Clemons, Desiree (Eric Vorland) Grimm, Delishia (Matt) Williams and Ashley Kinseth; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Delphine Johnson; and wife, Rosemary Starr.

Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, was in charge of arrangements.
