‘Remember When’ pictorial book to be released

The Clear Lake Mirror-Reporter’s popular “Remember When” is about to go to a whole new level.

“Remember When - Around the Lake” is the first in a series of pictorial history books planned for publication.  The 78-page, hard-cover coffee table book will be released in just a few short weeks.

“The lake is an integral part of our history and continues to influence our lifestyle today.  It is the reason for this book and the reason you’ll be seeing more volumes of “Remember When,’” said Mirror-Reporter Owner and Publisher Mike Finnegan.

The first book in the series has been in production since January, with staff member Amy Palmer planning, selecting and researching photographs for inclusion.  Photos were selected from the archives of the Clear Lake History Room with the assistance of historian H Milton Duesenberg,

“It was a pleasure to work alongside H Milton and experience his wealth of knowledge and passion for our community.  It was a special team effort and I learned more from him than the book can hold!” said Palmer.  “Our hometown is fortunate to have him so available to the public for answering historical questions and sharing stories.  This book couldn’t have been put together without his time and expertise.”

Delivery of the books to the Mirror-Reporter office is expected in late August.  They will sell for $34.95, plus tax.

Those who pre-order “Remember When - Around the Lake” can save $10 through Aug. 31.  A form to use for pre-orders can be found on page 7 in this edition.
