Services set for former police chief, City Councilman Nels Larsen
Clear Lake City Administrator Scott Flory announced Tuesday morning that City Hall will be closed Wednesday, Oct. 12, from 1:30 to 3 p.m., so employees can attend the funeral services for former City Councilman Nels Larsen.
The 92-year old Larsen died Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2016, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City, Iowa. Larsen served on the Clear Lake City Council, representing Ward 3 for 16 consecutive years, from 1988-2003. He retired from the Council in 2003.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. today (Wednesday, Oct. 12), at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. Fourth St., Clear Lake.
