Firefighters use Jaws of Life to free two trapped in vehicle after crash

The Jaws of Life were needed to free two persons from a car involved in a collision at North 20th Street and Highway 18 Wednesday, Nov. 23.  Officials were called to the scene at about 12:45 p.m.

Firefighters cut away the side doors of a 2013 red Ford Escape to free two people trapped inside.  They were transported to Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa by the CLFD Ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.

According to a report, the Escape and a blue Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck collided.  The driver of the truck was treated at the scene and not transported.

The crash remains under investigation and the names of those involved was not available at press time.
