Robert Anderson

Robert “Bob” Anderson, 89, of Mason City, Iowa, passed away Sunday, April 9, 2017, at Oakwood Care Center, Clear Lake.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 15, 2017, at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd Street NE, Mason City, with the Rev. Kenneth Gehling officiating.  Burial will be in Elmwood St. Joseph Cemetery, Mason City. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

Family suggests memorial contributions be directed to the family.

Robert R. Anderson was born April 23, 1927, the son of Erwin and Esther (Sunburg) Anderson, Stacy, Minn.  He attended Stacy Minnesota School, and graduated from North Branch High School. Robert was united in marriage to Wilma Frederick on June 17, 1950, in Mason City, and to this union two children were born.

Bob painted for two years on Howard Hughes Spruce Goose in California before coming to Mason City. He was employed at Zenors Automobile Shop, he was most well known as the owner and operator of Bob’s Shooters Supply.

Bob loved to work and keep busy, he spent many leisure hours hunting, trapping, fishing.  Over the years he had accumulated many animal mounts. He cherished the time in New Mexico collecting Native American artifacts and coyote calling. In retirement, Bob developed beautiful flower beds, and a rose garden.

Bob is survived by his wife, Wilma Anderson, Clear Lake; two daughters, Diana (Donavon) Reinsmoen, Clear Lake, Marilyn (Rick) Levenhagen, Rockford, Iowa; four grandchildren, Martin Reinsmoen, Quito, Ecuador, Katherine (Justin) Dettmann, Lakeville, Minn., Kristiana Reinsmoen, Abu Dhabi, UAE, Vanessa (Brian) Leavitt, Davenport, Iowa; seven great-grandchildren, Linnea and Sofia Reinsmoen, Alden, Finn and Kaia Dettmann, Noah and Luke Leavitt.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Louis Anderson.
