Two big wins for Clear Lake boys tennis team

The Clear Lake boys notched two convincing dual meet wins last week, improving their record to 8-2 overall.

CL 7, St. Ed’s 2

The Lions were at Fort Dodge May 2 to take on the St. Ed’s Gaels.  Jacob Peterson, Mac Adams, Aaron Blum, Drew Enke and Carter Olk all earned wins in singles.  Peterson/Adams and Blum/Olk also had doubles victories.

In junior varsity action, Noah Mason and Duke Olthoff were winners.

Mac Adams (CL) over Trent Woodhouse 6-3, 6-0

Nelson Cook (SE) over Hunter Gerhardt 6-3, 6-1

Drew Enke (CL) over Tyler McCarville 6-0, 6-2

Carter Olk (CL) over Michael Oberg 6-2, 6-1

Cook/Johnson over Gerhardt/Enke (CL) 7-5, 6-2

The Lions blanked the Bulldogs, 9-0, in a dual played Thursday, May 4.   “I thought we came out very focused tonight and played very consistent tennis,” said Coach Rich Peters.
