The Garner-Hayfield-Ventura girls won a triangular on Monday, May 1, at home.  The Cardinals shot a 195, followed by Lake Mills with a 240 and West Hancock with a 246.

“The girls played after having spent very little time on the course over the past week due to the poor weather conditions,” said Coach Todd Greiman.  “The lack of practice time took its toll on our four-five-six players.  Our team score overall wasn’t bad, but the girls know that they are capable of scoring better.

Carlee Frayne and Bailee Frayne both shot 40, but Carlee claimed the medalist honors by her handicap.  Rachel Enright carded a 50 and Cassie Eichmann rounded out the score with a 65.  Paige Penning and Kayla Leerar both shot 67.

Eagle Grove Meet

The Cardinal girls topped Eagle Grove by 32 strokes in a meet held on Friday, May 5.  GHV carded a 192, while Eagle Grove ended with a 224.

Bailee Frayne and Carlee Frayne took top honors, with Bailee picking up medalist honors with a 41 and Carlee earned runner-up with a 45.

“It doesn’t matter where we play, our team score is almost always in that same range, around 190,” said Coach Todd Greiman.  “The girls were able to adapt to the unfamiliar greens fairly quickly but as always, an occasional errant shot kept them from bringing in outstanding numbers.”

Rounding out the score was Rachel Enright with a 51 and Kayla Leerar recorded a 55.  Cassie Eichmann ended with a 71.

“We’re at the part of the season where fine tuning the game is the main goal,” said Greiman.
