This aerial photo of Clear Lake’s City Park, City Beach and South Shore was taken on Friday, before heavy winds and snowfall, but the lake is gradually opening.
The series of dark spots in the top center of the open water is actually the aerator system at work.
The lake appears to be on schedule for an average “ice-out” date, which is mid-March. The latest date the ice has been declared “out” on Clear Lake is April 25. That occurred in 1951.
