Mixdorf and Vanderploeg do well at NCC track meet

Macy Mixdorf earned a North Central Conference track title and teammate Mikayla Vanderploeg was a runner-up at the NCC Meet held Monday, May 7.  As a team, the Lions were sixth in the eight-team meet with 56 points.

Mixdorf, a junior, captured the 400 meter hurdle title, running a time of 1:11.54.  Vanderploeg placed second in the shot put with a throw of 33’ 9.25”. The mark was a personal best.

Clear Lake’s shuttle hurdle relay team had its best time of the year.  Olivia Amos, Mixdorf, Ashley Archer and Maria Fessler were third with a 1:10.95.

“We, as a team, are hoping that we can get events to place at Districts so that they can compete at the state level,” said Coach Shawn Puttmann.
