Naomi W. Brandt
Naomi W. Brandt, 94, of Clear Lake, died Monday, June 4, 2018, at Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, in Mason City.
A memorial service was held on Thursday, June 7, at Clear Lake United Methodist Church, 508 2nd Ave. N., Clear Lake, with Pastor David Peterson officiating. Inurnment was at Clear Lake Cemetery.
Family suggests memorial contributions to the Clear Lake Public Library or to Hospice of North Iowa.
Naomi was born on Jan. 5, 1924, the daughter of Ben F. and Tena M. (Lambert) Nieman, in Kanawha. She married Louis F. Brandt on Nov. 25, 1947, in Clear Lake. He preceded her in death on Dec. 22, 1973.
Naomi graduated from Kanawha High School. She was a telephone operator in Clear Lake for over 20 years. She later worked as a receptionist at Dr. Broghammer’s dental office.
Naomi was a member of the Clear Lake United Methodist Church.
Naomi is survived by a son, Mark (Rebecca) Brandt, of Clear Lake; five grandchildren, David (Sandra) Brandt, of Bettendorf, Robert (Charlene) Brandt, of Charles City, Cathleen Brandt, of Mason City, Elizabeth Brandt, of Clear Lake, and Katherine Brandt, of Clear Lake; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Lois Nieman; and very special nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four sisters, Mildred Smith, Margaret Terhufen, Ann Nieman, and Judy Thiemann; and a brother, Ben Nieman, Jr.
Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, was in charge of arrangements.
