Four members of the Clear Lake softball team have been honored with All-North Central Conference distinction.

Infielder Julia Merfeld and outfielder Sara Faber were First Team All-NCC selections.  Rachel Barillas and Macy Mixdorf were named to the All-NCC Third Team.

Merfeld, a sophomore, led the Lions with a .393 batting average in 14 conference games.  She had 22 hits in 56 at-bats and scored 12 runs.

Faber, who is also a sophomore, had hits in 18 if her 49 appearances at the plate for a batting average of .367 in league play.  She led the team in RBIs with 16 and smacked four home runs.   Faber had a slugging percentage of .735 and on-base percentage of .436.

Barillas had a batting average of .333 and was among the team leaders in RBIs with 11.  The senior led the team in on-base percentage at .462.  Her slugging percentage was .381.

Mixdorf batted .304 and had an on-base percentage of .400.  The junior outfielder had nine RBIs.

The Lions finished the season with a conference record of 5-9.  Humboldt earned the conference crown with a 13-1 mark.  Fort Dodge St. Ed’s was next at 11-3, followed by Algona at 10-4.  Hampton-Dumont and Webster City each had records of 6-8.  They were followed by Clear Lake and Iowa Falls-Alden, each at 5-9.  Clarion-Goldfield-Dows was in the cellar at 0-14.
