Competition was fierce for Clear Lake grapplers last week.  They team participated in a North Central Conference triangular with Clarion-Goldfield-Dows and Webster City Thursday night, them traveled to Indianola for a varsity tourney.

“Last week was a huge eye opener for us as a whole team.  We had the opportunity to wrestle some of the best competition in the conference as well as the state and Midwest as a whole,” said Head Coach Evan Johnson.   “I think that our kids did a great job competing with those teams.  No one just rolled over and quit, no matter how great the competition was. They fought every second they were out there.  We were able to identify the major areas that we need to work on and now we can go into break and rest up and get our bodies back where they need to be.  I thought we ended the week going into break on a high note and I can’t wait to see what our athletes will bring to the mat in 2021.”
