Boys claim team title and set school record in relay

A great team effort lifted the Clear Lake boys track team to another title on Friday, April 23, at the North Fayette Valley Co-ed Meet.  The Lions won the meet with 182 points, outdistancing the second place team by 74 points.  

“This win was totally a team effort.  We had 22 personal records and very balanced scoring from all areas,” said Head Coach Troy Tysdahl.

A highlight of the meet was the Sprint Medley team setting a new school record  The team of Austin Warnke, Jagger Schmitt, Tanner Reimann and Justin Wright won the race with a time of 1:35.96.

Tyson Cooley also had a stellar night, recording a personal best from last year and winning the high jump event clearing 6’2”.  He also won  both hurdle events he was in.  He placed first in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 16.81.  He anchored the shuttle hurdle team to a victory with a time of 1:04.99.  Other members of the team included Zeke Nelson, P.J. Feurerbach and Jack Crane.

Justin Wright won the 1600 meter run with a time of 4:48.37.

The 4x400 team of Jaden Wright, Warnke, Schmitt and Justin Wright also won their event with a time of 3:38.76.  

Schmitt and Jakob Myers finished second and third in the 200 meter dash.  Schmitt recorded a time of 23.94, while Myers clocked a 24.77.

Second place finishes went to Warnke in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.84; Reimann in the 400 meter dash with a time of 53.91; Crane in the 400 meter hurdles in 1:00.74; and Carson Krefft in the discus with a throw of 125’10”.

The 4x100 meter relay team of Tyre’s Green-Harrington, Reimann, Schmitt and Warnke finished second with a time of 44.85.

The 4x200 meter relay also placed second with a time of 1:40.08.  Members of the team were Myers, Carson Odor, Jordan Bergman and Jay Kapler.

•110 M Hurdles: Crane, 3rd, 18.20

•1600 M Run: Leo Tolentino, 4th, 5:09.53

•High Jump: Dylan Litzel, 3rd, 5’4”

•Long Jump: Nick Brcka, 4th, 17’4.50”

•Shot Put: Krefft, 5th, 40’5”

•4x100 M Relay: Jaden O’Brien-Green, Bergman, Odor, Brcka, 6th, 48.53

•4x200 M Relay: Bryant, Derek Erpelding, Marcus Skidmore, Brcka, 5th, 1:44.50

•4x800 M Relay: Mixdorf, Tolentino, Litzel, Jaden Wright, 3rd, 9:21.00

•Distance Medley: Brcka, O’Brien-Green, Manemann, Jack Englin, 6th, 4:10.77
