Filing opens Monday for city, school elections

Monday, Aug. 23, is the first day for candidates to file nomination papers for the Nov. 2, 2021 Regular City/School Elections. The filing deadline is Thursday, Sept. 16.

Persons interested in running for elective city office, local school board, or the North Iowa Area Community College Board should contact the county auditor for nomination forms and information on signature and filing

requirements. Normal business hours are 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. 

Two seats on the Clear Lake City Council will be decided in the election, as well as mayor.  The At-Large Council position currently held by Dana Brant and Second Ward seat held by Bennett Smith will be on the ballot.

The Clear Lake School Board will also have two positions determined by the vote.  Board of Director seats currently held by Chyrl Bergvig and Tony Brownlee will determined.
