In 1954, his family moved to a farm east of Grasston, Minnesota, where Tim enjoyed working alongside his family and cultivating a love for the outdoors.
In 1959, the Hartman family began a systematic study of the Bible with Jehovah’s Witnesses, a pivotal moment that inspired their lifelong ministry. Tim was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses March 10, 1962.
Tim graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in St. Paul, Minn. in 1964. Upon graduating Tim began full-time ministry, while also operating a cleaning service business. Tim’s ministry brought him to Charles City, in 1967 and Independence, in 1970. In 1974, he made his home in Clear Lake. Alongside his ministry, Tim worked for the Area Education Agency for 28 years. Teaching the Bible remained his passion, a commitment he upheld until his passing. Tim and Donna M. Majors were united in marriage on December 28, 1968, in Mason City.
Outside of his work and ministry, Tim loved gardening, especially tending to his beloved raspberry patch. He enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, often whistling a cheerful tune while puzzling away. He also had a love for singing. In his younger years, Tim was fascinated by astronomy and could often be found outside with his telescope, marveling at the stars.
Tim and Donna shared many wonderful years of traveling together, creating memories that brought them great joy.
