The Clear Lake City Council rejected a recommendation to incorporate “bump outs” at downtown Main Street intersections included in its Main Avenue Brick Paver Sidewalk Reconstruction process scheduled to begin this fall.

Drawing for Renaissance tickets will be Friday

The Clear Lake Mirror-Reporter is giving away tickets to the 2016 Minnesota Renaissance Festival over the next few weeks.

In response to demand for the tickets, this week correct answers to our contest will be accepted in person and through the mail, with a deadline of 3 p.m. Friday.   A drawing will be held Friday and the first four correct entries will each receive two tickets. Winners will be contacted.

Osprey restoration continues along shores of Clear Lake

(Above) A look inside the Osprey hack box located on the grounds of the Iowa Baptist Camp on the north shore of Clear Lake.  Last week the hack box doors were opened, allowing the Osprey free flight to hopefully become some of the first modern day nesters in the Clear Lake area.-Reporter photo by Chris Barragy.

Dance team gets a kick out of campaign efforts

Liz LeFevre, director of the CLHS Dance Team, accepts a check for their work during June’s Mirror-Reporter subscription campaign/fundraiser.  A portion of subscription costs during the campaign went back to the individual girls to help support their involvement in this creative team.-Reporter photo.

Tina Ann Norem, 47, of Garner, Iowa, formerly of Clear Lake, died Thursday, July 28, 2016, at her home.

A funeral service was held on Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2016, at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, with Pastor Scott Sokol officiating.  Inurnment will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2016, in Memorial Park Cemetery, in Mason City.

Family suggests memorial contributions to the Tina Norem Memorial Fund.
