Despite valiant effort CL girls fall to E-LC to end the season

Clear Lake’s Chloe Mueller was happy to score against Estherville-Lincoln Central in Monday night’s Regional final.  The run gave the Lions a 2-1 lead.

Results announced for Bicycle, Blues & BBQ races

The annual Bicycle, Blues & BBQ drew 278 racers to Clear Lake July 8-10.  The weather was perfect for both Friday night and Saturday, however the threat of lightning forced the cancellation of bicycle road races on Sunday.

Organizers reported that a record number of racers were in attendance, with the best caliber of racing for each of the featured races, the women’s and men’s elite races.  Cash prizes totaled $50,000 for the weekend.

The decision of a Fortune 100 company to locate in Clear Lake may be positively influencing others to consider North Iowa as a possible site for their business.

North Iowa Corridor Economic Development Corporation President Chad Schreck told the Clear Lake City Council Monday an industry prospect was in Clear Lake recently.  A medical supply manufacturer has made a site in southwest Mason City a finalist on its list of potential locations.

(Above) Tree planting in 1991 - Clear Lake Brownie Troop 467 recently donated a flowering crab tree to McIntosh State Park, Ventura.  Helping Park Ranger Gary Dusenberry and Troop leader Brenda Deboer (back) to plant the tree are troop members: (standing L-R): Sarah Tompkins, Natalie Seward, Andrea Snyder, Brandi Koster, Nicole Harvey, Kristin Keefe, Kelli Christian, Kathy DeBoer and Laura Allen.  Kneeling in the front is Alexis Snyder.
