Clarence E. Clark

Clarence Eugene Clark, 91, of Mason City, Iowa, died Thursday, Jan. 14, 2016, at Heritage Care and Rehabilitation Center, in Mason City.

A funeral service was held on Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2016, at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, in Clear Lake, with the Rev. Dr. Jacqueline Thompson officiating.  Interment was at Hillside Cemetery, in Sheffield.

Clarence Eugene Clark, 91, Mason City, died Thurs., Jan. 14, 2016, at Heritage Care and Rehabilitation Center in Mason City.  A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tues., Jan. 19 at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel in Clear Lake with Rev. Dr. Jacqueline Thompson officiating.  Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Mon., Jan. 18 at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel.  There will also be visitation one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.

Homer Orville Clark

Homer Orville Clark, 90, Mason City, passed away Wed., Jan. 13, 2016 at Good Shepherd Health Center, Mason City.  A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Mon., Jan. 18 at the First United Methodist Church, Mason City.  Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. Sun. Jan. 17 at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel in Mason City.

Remember When 1-14-2016

(Above) Dreams for peace in 1991 -  Second graders at Lincoln School displayed an American flag made with their handprints since the fall.  In conjunction with Martin Luther King Day, the students wrote their dreams for peace on paper resembling candles.  The group decided to hang their candles with the flag.  The display will hang in the school until troops come home.

Hazel E. Leaman, 90, of Mason City, Iowa, died Sunday, Jan. 3, 2016, at the Good Shepherd Health Center, Mason City.  Funeral services were held on Thursday, Jan. 7, 2016, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., with Pastor Janet Dorenkamp, Chaplain – Hospice of North Iowa officiating. Interment was in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery.

Hazel E. Leaman, 90, of Mason City, Iowa, died Sunday, Jan. 3, 2016, at the Good Shepherd Health Center, Mason City.  Funeral services were held on Thursday, Jan. 7, 2016, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., with Pastor Janet Dorenkamp, Chaplain – Hospice of North Iowa officiating. Interment was in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery.  

Homer C. Bienfang

Homer C. Bienfang, 86, of Clear Lake, died Thursday, Jan. 7, 2016, at Oakwood Care Center, in Clear Lake.  A memorial service was held on Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2016, at Apple Valley Assisted Living, 405 27th Ave. S., Clear Lake, where he resided with his wife the past year.  Pastor Scot McCluskey officiated.

Rev. Paul Hasel

Paul Frederick Hasel graduated into eternal life on Dec. 31, 2015 in Osceola, Iowa.

Born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1921, Paul earned his masters of divinity from Colgate Rochester in 1946.  Paul faithfully served in pastoral ministry for 65 years. From 1947-50 he and his wife, Haven, were Baptist missionaries to Burma, where he laid the groundwork for the Hpu Hsan Paw Bible School that he continued to support throughout his life.
