Lions fall to tough H-D team in volleyball

Clear Lake wrapped up the regular volleyball season at Hampton-Dumont Tuesday, Oct. 20.  The Bulldogs took a bite out of the Lions, 25-19, 25-16, 25-17.

Watershed Management Authority proposal introduced at City Council meeting

At its Monday night meeting, the Clear Lake City Council was briefed by Deb Tesar, representing the Association for the Preservation of Clear Lake (APCL), about the idea of a new “Watershed Management Authority.”  The idea would continue the efforts started by the APCL and the CLEAR Project, which was formed in 1995.  Since that time, millions of dollars have been spent on various lake restoration projects, including $12 million on dredging alone.

GHV falls to Forest City in Regional Tournament

Forest City ended Garner-Hayfield-Ventura’s volleyball season in the opening round of the Class 3A Regional Tournament held in Forest City on Monday night, Oct. 26.

The Indians came ready to play and pounced on the Cardinals in three matches, 25-12, 26-6 an 25-18.

Hannah Lau led the Cardinals with six kills.  Carlie Knutson and Taylor Gerdes had four kills apiece.

Sydney Childress led the team in assists with 13.  She also had seven digs.
