A television report of an armed robbery in Clear Lake Saturday led to the arrest of two Newell, Iowa persons.  According to Clear Lake Assistant Police Chief Herb Garlock, witnesses to he armed robbery of the Pronto Station in Clear Lake came forward after seeing the 10 p.m. news on KIMT-TV, Channel 3.  The couple are suspects in six other armed robberies in the state.

Mrs. Ole Flatland arrived Thursday from her old home in Norway where she had been visiting since leaving the United States April 23.  This was her first trip back to Norway in 46 years.

Mrs. B.A. Morse, secretary to Supt. T.G. Burns, returned from Ames where she was elected vice president of Iowa School Board Secretaries which closed a three day workshop.

Mrs. Philip Gehring, nee Betty Burns, Davidson N.C., will play “Andante by Bach as a violin number at the Congregational Church Sunday morning.

W.J. McGowan and D.C. Brandon drove to the cemetery Friday and placed a wreath of flowers on the grave of S.J. Clausen.  For 15 years prior to the death of Mr. Clausen, the three men celebrated their birthdays, which fall on the same day, Aug. 22, with a dinner party.  Since Mr. Clausen’s death, in 1924, the two remaining friends place flowers on the grave of their friend on that date.
