Bridge replacement tabled by City Council

The Clear Lake City Council has tabled a motion to proceed with replacement of a bridge near the new McKesson Corporation development on 12th Avenue South.

Bids to replace the bridge and culvert over Outlet Creek came in more than $95,000 over the engineer’s estimate of $320,000.  Peterson Contractors, of Reinbeck, Iowa, had the low bid of $415,609.

All three City Council incumbents will run again

All three incumbents on the Clear Lake City Council intend to seek re-election.

At-Large Councilman Mike Callanan said Monday he plans to run for a third term, saying he has enjoyed his service to the city and considers it important to give back to his community.
