Colon now in training for Team USA

Former Clear Lake prep and University of Northern Iowa All-American wrestler Joe Colon is now in Colorado Springs, Colo. for Team USA wrestling’s training camp.  The camp is held in preparation for the World Championships set for Sept. 7-12 in Las Vegas, Nev.

Firm hired to analyze chlorine storage at Water Treatment Plant

The City of Clear Lake will review the chlorine storage system at its Water Treatment Plant in the wake of a recent leak.

The City Council voted Aug. 3 to hire Veenstra & Kimm, of Mason City, to review and make recommendations to improve the storage of the chlorine gas used for disinfecting the municipal drinking water supply.  The cost of the work will be $8,400.

New Clear Lake Head Football Coach Jared DeVries invites the public to get an early look at the Lions at an open practice Wednesday, Aug. 19, from 4-6 p.m. at the practice fields located just east of the high school.  Official practice for high school players began Monday.
