Doug Nelson, rural Clear Lake farmer, has announced his intent to file papers for the District 2 Cerro Gordo County Supervisor seat as a Democrat.

Deadlines moved up for next Mirror-Reporter

Early deadlines are in effect for the next issue of the Clear Lake Mirror-Reporter due to the New Years holiday.  All news and 

advertising is due on Friday, rather than Monday.  The newspaper will arrive in mailboxes on Tuesday, Dec. 31, instead of the usual Wednesday delivery.

The Mirror-Reporter office will be open 9 a.m. to noon New Year’s Eve Tuesday.

Hugi claims at-large Clear Lake City Council position

Gary Hugi won the at-large position on the Clear Lake City Council following the Regular Election held on Tuesday, Nov. 5.  Hugi topped fellow newcomer Peter Lagios with more than 82 percent of the vote.

The lake level dropped almost an inch during the week to its new reading

Recent warm weather caused over 

a 2” drop in the lake level.  The lake now measures -2.28” below the weir.  Last year at this time the lake measured -38.52” below the weir.

Volunteers invited to create welcome art for RAGBRAI riders
