 James (Jim) C. Merwin, 90, of Clear Lake, died Sunday, June 15, 2014 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City, from injuries he sustained in a vehicle accident on June 6.

 Keith H. Markwardt, 75, Mason City, Iowa, died Monday, May 19, 2014 at the Mercy Medical Center of North Iowa. A funeral service was held on Friday, May 23, at Wesley United Methodist Church, Mason City, with Rev. Steve Hansen officiating. Interment was at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Swaledale, Iowa. Memorials may be given to Wesley United Methodist Church.

 Pastor Murley Alden Severtson, 94, Clear Lake, died Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Oakwood Care Center.
A funeral service will be held on, Monday, April 21, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Mason City, with Rev. Kathy Graves officiating. Interment was at the Clear Lake Cemetery where Military Honors were presented by the Clear Lake V.F.W. Memorials may be given to Opportunity Village, the Malaria Fund at Trinity Lutheran Church, or the charity of your choice.

Helen Elizabeth Harlan, age 72, passed away March 24, 2014 with her family at her side in Lone Tree, Colo. 

She was born Aug. 5, 1941 in Spirit Lake, Iowa.  She was retired from multiple careers that included the Parker Recreation Center and Diners Club International. 

Helen is survived by her husband of 54 years, Bob; children, Mary, Janie, and Jim; grandchildren, Ryan, Paige, Samantha, Sabrina, Max, and Alex.

Sharon L. Davison, 78, Clear Lake, died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014 at the Concord Care Center in Garner, Iowa.

A funeral service for Sharon was held on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014 at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, with Reverend Brian Lund of Zion Evangelical & Reform Church in Garner officiating.  Burial was in the Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City.  

Those wishing to give a memorial in her memory may wish to consider memorial contribution to Hospice of North Iowa.

Audrey M. Spilman, 95, Clear Lake, died Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014 at the Oakwood Care Center, Clear Lake.  According to her wishes, her body has been donated to the University of Iowa.  A private memorial service will be held at a later date.  A private family inurnment will take place at the Clear Lake Cemetery later. Priscilla Ann Wallace (Maise), 61, of Mason City, formerly of Clear Lake, died Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014 at Hospice of North Iowa, Mason City.  A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014 at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial 

Chapel with Rev. Arthur Zewert officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.  Burial will take place on a later date.
