CL girls golf gets in the swing

The Clear Lake Girls golf team had four meets during the past week— two nine-hole meets and two 18-hole tournaments.

CL 173, Webster City 228

The team had its second meet of the year Tuesday, April 19, against Webster City. The Lions won the North Central Conference dual by a score of 173-228.

“It was a bitterly cold night and play was a little slow, but we came out on top and scored well for the conditions,” said Coach Colby Andrews.

Webster City edged Clear Lake, 162-165 in an early North Central Conference meeting Tuesday, April 19.  The Lynx, playing on their home course, posted the narrow win after the Lions were 10-over on the last three holes.

Girls soccer team moves mark to 5-1

The Clear Lake girls soccer team improved its record to 5-1 last week with wins over Belmond-Klemme, Hampton-Dumont-CAL and Decorah.

CL 9, B-K 0

Brooklyn Eden had four goals, helping the Lions to wrangle the Belmond-Klemme Broncos, 9-0, on Monday, April 18.   Addison Jones scored twice and Emily Benitz, Kaylee McCarl and Emily Theiss had one goal apiece in the shutout.

Ella Nielsen and Jones were credited with assists.
