The Western Home has abandoned its plans to build a retirement complex at the former Clear Lake United Methodist Camp in favor of selling the entire seven acre camp to Joe Minard and Kevan Cortright, developers.  Cortright said no specific plans have been developed for the area, but a condominium development, with units in the $200,000 range, appears likely.

After a weather delay to start the season, the Clear Lake girls soccer team finally got to take the field Tuesday, April 5, against CAL.  The Lions made it worth the wait and dominated, 10-0.

Boys golf team competes on toughest course in Iowa

The Clear Lake boys golf team faced the challenge of Iowa’s infamous Bos Landen golf course combined with some of the state’s best teams competing at the Dutch Master at Pella last week.

On day one the Lions played Bos Landen, which Coach Eric Perry calls “the toughest course you can play in the state of Iowa.”

“We had a freshman, four sophomores and a senior on the course for the first time in their career,” explained Perry.
