The Lions saved their best match for last, but fell just short in their Class 3A Region 2 Quarterfinal against Forest City Monday night.

A wicked spooktacular

Halloween is the favorite time of year for Clear Lake residents Angela Hesley and her husband, Larry.  The couple, along with Larry’s brother, Rick, and his wife, Dorrie, have been working for weeks to create a “Wicked Spooktacular” at 704 S. 8th St. 

This isn’t the first year the couple has made the house a frightful sight.

Three seek two School Board positions

Two positions on the Clear Lake School Board will be decided in the Tuesday, Nov. 2, General Election.  

Incumbent Chyrl Bergvig is seeking a third term on the Board.  Tony Brownlee is running for a second term and Greg Southgate is running for the first time.

The candidates reponded to a series of questions provided to them by the Mirror-Reporter.

A grant application to create a North Iowa Innovation Center to help address the role of North Iowa’s technology sector in the economy has been turned down.

Chad Schreck, executive director of the North Iowa Corridor Economic Development Corporation, told the Clear Lake City Council last week that a $750,000 grant application supported by the City of Clear Lake, Mason City, Cerro Gordo County and others was not approved.

Dr. Karen P. Anderson

Dr. Karen P. Anderson, 52, of Clear Lake, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2021, surrounded by her family.

Funeral Mass was held on Monday, Oct. 25, at St. Patricks’ Catholic Church, Clear Lake, with Father Joshua Link, Celebrant.
